Before we head into the holiday break, we invite you to mark your calendar and save the dates for important activities and milestones starting already in January.
- The European Commission – Public consultation on CO2 markets and infrastructure. The European Commission has invited stakeholders to take part in a consultation on the upcoming proposal for a regulation on the EU’s carbon dioxide infrastructure and markets, Legislative initiative on CO₂ transportation infrastructure and markets. Deadline 9 January, 2026.
- Consultation by the Swedish Energy Agency. The Swedish Energy Agency is inviting written comments on carbon dioxide infrastructure, with a particular focus on transport, as part of its upcoming work. Over the coming months, the National Centre for CCS will take part in important policy discussions at Nordic and European level, which may influence Sweden’s position on the issue. Deadline 23 January, 2026.
- Kick-off of the Nordic CCS Programme, 20 January, 2026, Copenhagen. The deadline for registration is 7th of January. The Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities, on behalf of the Steering Committee with representatives from all Nordic countries, invites you to the kick-off of the Nordic CCS Programme under the Nordic Council of Ministers. The purpose of the programme is to provide a strong analytical background to enable the further development of the Nordic region as a strong European hub for CCS for the benefit of national and European climate targets. Klimpo’s CEO Karolina Unger has been invited to present and moderate during the kick-off.
- BioCCUS Roundtable and Networking on 28 January, 2026. Klimpo will arrange a BioCCUS roundtable at the Swedish Parliament (Riksdagen), followed by networking and presentations at the Danish Embassy in Stockholm. Invitations have been sent via email. (In Swedish)
- Klimpo’s BioCCUS conference “THE Carbon Capture X-Pedition: Prepping for Transformation”, 23-24 March, 2026, in Stockholm. From yesterday’s lessons to tomorrow’s ambitions, THE Carbon Capture X-Pedition explores the full journey toward a climate-positive future. Join leading international experts to discover resilient Bio-CCUS strategies, innovative logistics, and scalable pathways to negative emissions across industries.
